Which MTA's can be reversed?
We are only able to reverse or cancel an MTA that is future dated and that has not yet come into effect. If you need to reverse an MTA that has already taken effect, you must complete an additional MTA to change the risk details.
How to access and remove a MTA already completed?
To reverse an MTA, first you must remove the adjustment via Brokerlink (EDI).
- To do this, access Brokerlink via Esc & 5, click Mid Term Menu, and then click Remove Adjustment. Select the adjustment you wish to select, and confirm.
After the EDI adjustment has been removed, access the relevant SMTA frame from the risk list. This should always be the most recent SMTA frame.
Update the SMTA frame:
After the EDI adjustment has been removed, we must update the Stroll platform so that the customre's documents section is updated to reflect that the MTA will not proceed.
To do this, we must update the SMTA that was stored at the time of the MTA being completed.
When you have accessed the most recent SMTA frame, update the last option for “Remove previous MTA docs” to Yes and save the frame.
When you save the frame this will auto-generate a trigger to the Stroll Platform to notify that the MTA documents must be removed from the customer account.
Removing multiple MTAs:
If you need to remove multiple MTAs (for example, future change of vehicle & separate MTA for future change of reg) then you must following these steps:
- Update the most recent SMTA frame as normal to reverse the most recent MTA. (e.g. change of reg)
- When you save the frame this will auto-generate a trigger to the Stroll Platform and the most recently processed MTA will be removed from the customer's account.
- Only the most recent SMTA can be updated, so to reverse the next pending MTA, you must add a new SMTA frame with the exact time and date of the next change to be reversed, making sure to update the “Remove previous MTA docs” to Yes. (e.g. change of vehicle)
- When you save the frame this will auto-generate a trigger to the Stroll Platform.
Remove MTA Transactions (if a transaction was charged):
After the EDI message has been removed, and the SMTA frame has been updated to reverse the MTA on the Stroll platform, you must also remove the MTA transactions.
Go to Process Frames, then Complete Non-OWM policy, select Remove Receipt and select the relevant transaction to remove. Complete payment refunds as necessary and receipt any refund payments.
Reversing an MTA – IMPORTANT INFO
To make sure that the reversal of an MTA goes smoothly, and any addons are updated correctly and the correct documents and policy information is displayed in the customer account, it is essential that the process is completed in the correct sequence.
Remember:
1.Remove the EDI
2.Update the SMTA frame
3.Create transaction if required
What is the SMTA Frame?
A customer can complete multiple MTAs, each of which will product new documents to override other documents that have already been issued during the policy lifecycle. These documents and MTAs can all look the same, so Stroll needed a method of identifying and versioning each MTA that is exported from OGI to Stroll.
The SMTA frame records the date and the time of the MTA that is being completed, and this data is then sent to the Stroll platform from OGI along with the EDI documents so that the platform knows which documents to group together and for which MTA.
The SMTA frame also allows us to reverse an MTA, by updating the status of the relevant version / MTA that needs to be reversed.
