Chat Responses - What is an Introductory Bonus (NDE)
What is an introductory bonus / named driving experience allowance?
An introductory bonus is a bonus that some insurers allow in order to give the customer a discount for driving another vehicle without any accidents (either under another vehicle/insurance policy or a different vehicle they do own/separate insurance policy).
There are a few scenarios for this type of bonus
- The customer may not have an earned bonus in their own name, but they may have been named as a driver on another vehicle for a period without any incidents. Examples of this are
- A family member’s car
- A company car
- This may be a second car policy for the customer.
- Their bonus is already being used on another car in their name (you cannot use the same earned bonus on two vehicles and so the insurer may allow an introductory bonus on the second car).
