Underwriting

- Excesses: Windscreen Excess - £100 for replacement £0 for repair. Unlimited cover is approved repairer is used – otherwise maximum cover is £250. Check workings for other excesses

- Leased Vehicles: minimum of 6 month agreement as long as it is between the PH/spouse and finance company (keeper = policyholder and owner = leasing company)

- New Car Replacement: – if you’ve owned your car from new and
within 12 months of purchase it’s written off or stolen and not
recovered, we’ll provide you with a new car as a replacement - Protected NCD: 2 claims in 3 years. Bonus reduced after 3 claims in 3 years.

- ROI: IPID states cover in the ROI as normal

Windscreen cover
What is insured
We will pay for breakage of glass in your windscreen or windows. We will also pay for damage to
your car’s paint work caused by broken glass. If no other damage has occurred the claim will not
affect your no claim discount. If the glass is replaced you will be required to pay the first £100 of the
cost (excess). You will not have to pay this sum if the glass is repaired rather than replaced. If you
use an approved repairer, cover is unlimited, subject to the exceptions below. If you use your own
repairer, cover will be limited to £250 per claim. We may use glass that has not been made by the
car’s manufacturer but will meet the manufacturer’s specification.
What is not insured
• Any amount over £250 for a replacement or £50 for a repair if the work is not carried out by
our approved windscreen repairers
• Damaged or broken glass in sunroofs or panoramic glass roofs
• Damaged or broken mirror glass
• Damaged or broken glass to vehicles that are temporarily covered
What is not insured (continued)
• Damage caused by wear and tear or negligence
• Damage caused by your own deliberate act
• The extra cost of replacing non-standard glass; or
• The cost of importing glass or parts from outside the EU
• Loss, destruction or damage caused directly by pressure waves from aircraft and other
flying objects travelling at or above the speed of sound
• The cost of any repair or replacement which improves your car beyond the condition it
was in before the loss or damage took place
• Loss or damage from using your car in a rally, competition or trial.
Benefits/Extras
- In car entertainment, telephone and satellite navigation equipment – for equipment permanently fitted to the car. If not part of the manufacturer’s original specification, will cover up to £250
- Replacement of locks and keys – provided keys were in or on the car whilst it was unattended

- Temporary replacement car (small hatchback up to 1200cc) whilst repairs are being carried out provided approved repairer is used
- £10,000 cover per person for PH and spouse/partner for injury resulting: death, permanent loss of limb, complete loss of sight
